The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, Rt. Rev. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye, has stressed the need for Nigerians to live together in peace and harmony irrespective of their religious and ethnic differences.

Fielding questions from journalists during a visit to the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins yesterday, he noted that every religion should practice what it preaches, adding: “We should live as brothers and sisters, then the society will be a beautiful place.”

“There is also the need for us to return to God for Nigeria to regain its glory. We have left the ancient past of true obedience to the word of God. We must also be patient, resolute and have eternal hope in God. People don’t have to steal to be successful.”

Responding, Martins expressed happiness over Olumakaiye’s visit, adding that the Anglican and Catholic churches have a cordial relationship, which led to the establishment of the Nigerian Anglican Roman Catholic Commission (NARCC).
